EDMS Titan sets multiple track and field records

Grade 7 École Deer Meadow School athlete Aislin Carrick literally ran away with four events during the Junior High Zones track meet in Didsbury last week. Carrick won the 100 metre (m), 200 m, 400 m, and 1,500 m races.

Changes are in the wind for the Olds Lacrosse Association (OLA). Sally Dolinski, who has served as the association's president for three years, is stepping down.

Tykes lacrosse team wins silver in classic final

The Olds tykes lacrosse team had an incredible May long weekend. They went undefeated (3-0) in the round robin of a tournament in Leduc, ending up in the gold medal final against the Calgary Axemen. That final was a classic.

The peewee Olds Stingers came oh so close to winning gold. They settled for silver after being edged 5-4 by the Edmonton Wizards in the final of the Tradition Lives lacrosse tournament, held May 18-20 in Red Deer.

Local throwing athlete Haylin Eling and her coach Rachel Andres managed to do well during the Chinook Throws Gala in Lethbridge despite some pretty awful weather. The event was held May 17-19.
