Three members of the Olds Rapids Swim Club have qualified for Swim Alberta's southern winter festival which takes place Nov. 24 and 25 in Cochrane. They are Thomas Andrews, 11; Kayla Milz, 10; and Brooke Rosevear, 10.

A cowboy with several family connections in Sundre and Calgary recently took the novice bareback title during the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Red Deer.

Over this winter, the Olds Golf Club plans to hammer out a policy regarding cannabis (marijuana) consumption on the course, club pro and manager Wade Bearchell says. However, he suspects people have consumed cannabis on the course long before now.

Sundre High School recently hosted an action-packed, adrenalin-fuelled day. More than 100 martial artists from different parts of the province came to compete in the Mountainview Taekwondo Club’s tournament, which was held Saturday, Nov. 3.

Brandon Rude of Bowden, 18, is currently an Olds Grizzlys affiliate player but hopes to crack the regular lineup. Hockey has been a part of his life from a young age and he's worked hard to earn a place among the Grizzlys.

Now that the golfing season is over, improvements are being made at the Olds Golf Club and plans are in the works to do more next spring or summer.
