Olds Grizzlys business operations manager Joel Hunter has resigned. The Olds Sportsmen's Recreation Association, which operates the Junior A hockey team, announced Hunter's resignation yesterday (March 20).

Volunteer organizers are putting out a call to the community in search of any girls interested in forming up an all-female hockey team for the 2017-18 season.

INNISFAIL - Local figure skaters took to the ice last weekend for their annual grand year-end showcase and a thoroughly entertained crowd was decidedly dazzled. The annual event took place March 11 at the Innisfail Arena.

After losing an early lead in their third playoff game against the second-ranked Canmore Eagles Sunday night, the Grizzlys came from behind at the buzzer, and then stole a point in overtime to clinch the match and the series.

Several former Sundre junior curlers who now help to coach the new ranks of juniors recently won a silver medal at the Alberta Schools' Athletic Association (ASAA) High School Zones last month.
