Journalism and the news industry are at a critical crossroads. It reminds me of the early days of the Internet when downloading free music from file sharing websites such as Napster and Kazaa was a common practice.

With the 2019 provincial election race nearing the homestretch, parties on all sides have been making campaign promises on everything from health care to education, from taxes to social programs.

Lots of things aren’t going Alberta’s way right now. There was the Northern Gateway pipeline to B.C. proposal killed by the federal government, and the Energy East pipeline to New Brunswick killed by Quebec and the feds.

I recently volunteered to erect signs in Olds for a candidate in the upcoming provincial election.

The long anticipated wait for the upcoming provincial election is finally over. Rachel Notley, leader of the governing NDP, dropped the writ last week, announcing that Albertans would be going to the polls on April 16.

The 2019 provincial election, the 30th one held in this province, is now well underway.

Regardless of which party forms the government after the April 16 election, the most important change since 2015 is that Alberta is a two-party state again. This is one case where the numbers tell the story.

With the provincial election campaign now in its second week, the various parties vying for seats in the April 16 vote have been busy trying to convince voters to buy into their respective platforms.

Re: Writer supports Bighorn Country proposal, page 17, March 12 Gazette. The letter writer seems to have listened to everything the NDP have had to say, and ignored any rebuttal.
