A local volunteer organization whose mission is not only to entice medical professionals to choose Sundre to practise but also to settle in the community long-term has been recognized for its efforts.

People in the community are generally very grateful of the work local physicians and health-care support staff do to help keep residents in Sundre and the surrounding area healthy, said the chair of the Sundre Hospital Futures Committee.

Council recently heard that administration has prepared a comprehensive document compiling a detailed list of services provided by the municipality’s various departments, which will help prepare future budgets.

Council was presented with a revised design for the three-year trial public parking lot established in partnership with the Sundre Hotel and Restaurant as requested during the previous meeting.

People in Sundre and the surrounding area seem to have largely celebrated Canada’s birthday safely, with emergency services reporting no major incidents. “It was totally uneventful,” said Kevin Gamble, Sundre Fire Department’s deputy chief.
