An 82-year-old blind resident of Sundre has moved into the Foothills Lodge with his Seeing Eye dog, after he was initially denied a request for his dog to reside with him there earlier this year.

Jason Nixon defeated MLA Joe Anglin in the Wildrose Party nomination contest to be the party's candidate for Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre in the next provincial election. “I'm very excited about the results,” Nixon told the Round Up.
