The Town of Sundre's bylaw officer is reminding residents to keep their yards maintained, as one property owner has already been asked to clean up their property this summer.

A few Sundre businesses are dealing with losses as a result of overland flooding after the Red Deer River breached its banks last month. “I've had to refund a lot of deposits for people,” said David Todd, owner of Otter Rafting.

Town of Sundre officials are hoping to have Greenwood Campground open by the end of the month, but are unsure if the washhouse will be operational.

Noise bylaw relaxed During the Town of Sundre council meeting on June 17, council passed two motions regarding Canada Day celebrations. Council approved relaxing noise bylaw No. 818 on July 1 for the celebrations.

Residents of Riverside RV Village are thankful that the amount of damage received from the June flood is less than what was expected. Residents are back in their units and there has been no damage to recreational vehicles.

The extent of private property damage in Sundre from the June flood is undetermined at this point.
