INNISFAIL – Local RCMP nabbed a pair of fleeing suspected stolen property culprits after laying down a spike belt. On Sept. 25, Innisfail RCMP members were on patrol and observed a suspicious truck near a local business with no tail lights on.

BOWDEN – Council has set a date for a mayoralty candidates forum for the community. It will take place Thursday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Friendship Centre. Rev. Jason Metcalfe will serve as the moderator. The election will be held Oct. 16.

Vacationing Penhold firefighters braved the murderous gunfire at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in Las Vegas to help others despite a massive wall of panicked concertgoers desperately fleeing for safety.

Coun. Cory Kingsfield resigned as a Penhold councillor on Sept. 25. Kingsfield said in an interview that he has left Penhold for personal reasons. He's now living in Red Deer and is running for city council there.
