Local hairstylist Lee Cenaiko of Zebedeez Hair Design is competing on team Canada in a hairstyling competition in Paris in September. Cenaiko is excited, humbled and nervous about being able to represent her country in a huge competition.

A benefit dance for local injured Humboldt Broncos player Graysen Cameron and members of the Olds and District Special Olympics (ODSO) was a success, an organizer says.

Canadian country artist Michelle Wright is coming to the TransCanada Theatre. Wright will be performing there May 16, 7:30 p.m., as part of the Grand Olds Opry, presented by the Olds Kiwanis Performing Arts Society.

Up and coming Canadian country music artist Scotty Kipfer is on a road trip to promote his first album “Taking My Time” and stopped in Olds en route.

More than two dozen artists displayed about 150 paintings during the Sundre Art Society’s show and sale. “We had 28 artists who entered their work,” said society president Lila Weiss, adding that is pretty consistent with previous years.
