DIDSBURY – The town has announced the location for the new town office. The town office, along with Didsbury Neighbourhood Place, will be moving into the previous Venue Church property at 1710 14th Street.

DIDSBURY – After hearing a presentation from Nicole Aasen, manager of community services, council approved plans for the development of the grounds outside the Didsbury Memorial Complex.

DIDSBURY – A Didsbury couple were taken to hospital after their car went off the road and rolled down a steep embankment in the Water Valley area on Nov. 21. The single vehicle incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m.

The second event of the 2016-17 Mountain View Cowpoke Junior Rodeo Club season attracted more than 70 young competitors. The event was held at the Raecer Ranching Arena at Westward Ho on Nov. 19. The rodeo features competitors age three to 14.

CREMONA – At the regular council meeting in Cremona on Nov. 15, council approved final reading of the tax penalty bylaw (470-16), which brings forward a new bylaw with penalties for outstanding taxes.

Two members of the Mary Riley Women's Institute (W.I.) have travelled to England to take part in a worldwide Associated Country Women of the World conference.

DIDSBURY – Phase 1 of a project to install signs at the main entrance to town, at the new fire hall and at other municipal buildings has begun. The price tag for Phase 1 is $80,000.

CARSTAIRS – At its regular meeting on Nov. 14, Carstairs town council approved an amendment to Land Use Bylaw 1023 that will allow redesignation of 21 hectares of land located east of Highway 2A (Marygold), north of the Carstairs Golf Course.

Mountain View County (MVC) councillor Al Kemmere has been re-elected by acclamation to a second term as president of the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC).
