Autumn has gotten off to a wet, coolish start, but Niels Slotboom, head coach of the Olds College men's and women's soccer teams is OK with that.

Last season, Fabian Gromenida emerged as a huge star — not only for the Olds College men's soccer team — but for the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) as a whole.

The École Olds High School Spartans football team is a work in progress, but head coach George Grant remains optimistic. Once again, the Spartans are playing in the Big Sky Football Conference, along with the Drumheller Titans and Canmore Wolverines.

CARSTAIRS - The Town of Carstairs has purchased the Carstairs Community Golf Club at a cost of $700,000, say officials. The sale was approved by the club members at a meeting on Sept. 9.
