The 2018-19 season is over for Olds High School's senior boys' basketball team. It ended in a really tough way.

BY CCAA Staff Brittney Thibeaux of the Olds Broncos has been named the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Basketball Player of the Year.

The annual Olds Ladies Bonspiel had fewer teams this year than previous years; 18, compared to the previous 22 or 24, but sponsorship was strong, about on par with other years, according to Connie Strautman, chair of the spiel's organizing committee.

The massive and largely unexpected dump of more than 30 centimetres of snow on March 8 did not put a noticeable damper on the kickoff to the annual Sundre Oilmen’s Curling Bonspiel.

The Sundre midget Huskies, back on the ice for the first time after a several year hiatus, skated their way straight to the league division championship against Airdrie.

INNISFAIL – The Innisfail Skating Club will help usher in spring with its skating carnival. The event takes place at the Innisfail Arena on March 17 from 1 to 3 p.m.
