Five Olds Grizzlys peewee AA players have been chosen to play on the south black team in the Peewee Prospects Cup which takes place May 8-12 in Lethbridge. They are Drew Williamson, Walker Overwater, Emmett Barnett, Ryan Seeley and Tristan Visser.

The Bicisport Cycling Club is opening its 2019 season with two races in Olds and area. The Hay City Road Race will take place May 4 near Eagle Hill. And a criterium will be held May 5 in the southwest industrial park.

INNISFAIL – Students from across Central Alberta recently put their badminton skills to the test. Innisfail High School and Innisfail Middle School welcomed badminton players for the annual Innisfail Badminton Tournament on April 5 and 6.

You won't hear many people around here complaining about an early spring, least of all golf fans. Due to inclement weather, last year's golf season started late and ended early, which made for a short golf season.

CARSTAIRS/CREMONA/DIDSBURY - Area students did very well at the recent Junior High Divisional Badminton Meet held in Olds. The April 16 meet featured boys and girls from grades 7-9 from schools across Chinook's Edge School Division.

Innisfail and area residents and those across Central Alberta, woke up to a winter scene this morning thanks to a spring storm moving through the area today (April 27).

About 80 athletes in grades 7 to 9 took part in the Junior Broncos' Badminton Tournament April 13 at the Ralph Klein Centre. Following are results for Olds and area students from that tournament.

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY -- The Mountainview Broncos club basketball program recently started up. The program offers basketball opportunities for boys and girls throughout the spring and early summer.

Andy Sweetman has been coaching lacrosse in Olds for about eight years. This year, he's going to coach again -- and for the first time, play the game as a member of the newly formed Olds Stingers senior C team.

Five students from the Sundre Mountainview Taekwondo Club were recently tested and awarded their black belts.
