The number of teams that participated in the annual Shaggin On Sno fundraising tournament was down slightly from last year, but the money raised was on par with previous years, according to organizer Mary Smith.

Local throwing coach Rachel Andres has started a new track and field club in the community. It's called the Olds Velites Track Club. Her husband suggested the name.

A product of Sundre's minor hockey association has just wrapped up a very successful season playing hockey in Iceland. Adam Beukeboom, who was born and raised in Sundre, was the top goaltender for the Skautafelag Akureyrar Vikingar (Vikings).

The Sundre bantam Huskies recently sailed through to provincial semifinals after going undefeated in three round robin games in Nanton. Although that was as far as they made it, the squad’s coach said he was proud of his team’s accomplishment.

INNISFAIL – The Innisfail PeeWee B Flyers earned a silver medal at their annual tournament. The two-day event saw six teams from across Alberta compete at the Innisfail Arena on Feb. 2 and 3.

Olds Koinonia Christian School (OKCS) held a big celebration last Tuesday (March 19) after its senior girls' basketball team won the 1A provincials.

Ten youth from Olds and one from Didsbury, ages 9 to 14, were named regional champions of the 2019 Knights of Columbus free throw championship after having placed in the Council and District championships March 9 at Holy Trinity Catholic School.
