Former Olds resident Andreas Troschke has a shot at being named the 2017 Athletics Alberta Junior Athlete of the Year. The winner will be announced June 16 in Calgary.

Members of the Rotary Club of Olds have now raised $75,000 toward their $500,000 commitment to help fund extras like beachers, etc., for the new Rotary Athletic Park, currently under construction north of Walmart.

An Olds athlete is one of nine new recruits for the Olds College Broncos female soccer team. She is Humera Mirza, a striker and midfield player who stands 5-6. Mirza names Lloydminster as her hometown.
