DIDSBURY - A Grade 11 field hockey player from Didsbury High School recently returned from France where he travelled with the Canadian National Men's U-21 Junior Development Squad.

CARSTAIRS-CREMONA-DIDSBURY - Several athletes from the region qualified for the high school provincial track and field meet at the zone championships on May 22 in Calgary.

Almost $900,000 has now been raised to cover costs for amenities at the new Rotary Athletic Park expected to be available for use by the fall of 2019. Construction of the approximately $3.6-million project is expected to get underway this summer.

Local athletes did well at the provincial baton twirling championships, according to Jenna Jemieff, who owns the Inspire Dance Studio and Baton Club in Olds.

INNISFAIL – Tykes and mini-tykes rose to the occasion for the third annual Terror of the Tykes Festival. The event took place at the Innisfail Arena on May 12. “The tournament is a one-day event,” said Jamie Bergen, coordinator of the festival.
