A new venue for bicycle enthusiasts opened up on the weekend, with organizers hoping to capitalize on the central location Olds offers in the province.

The Olds Midget Mustangs blasted the opposition in two games on the weekend, outscoring the Drayton Valley Midget B team 15-2 on Friday at home and then travelling to Stettler where they beat the Midget B team 15-1 in North Central Minor Hockey Assoc

A Bowden man died on the weekend in a head-on collision on Highway 587 just north of Bowden. RCMP said Richard Sorensen, 45, was driving a Dodge Dakota truck westbound on Highway 587 about 3 p.m.
