On its 150th birthday, Canadians celebrated the country. It was also special occasion for those of us who were born elsewhere and have adopted Canada as our home. We especially know the gifts of Canada in contrast to less stable places.

Canadians had plenty of reasons to celebrate as we looked back on 150 years since confederation. From the Underground Railroad that helped many slaves from the U.S.
