Efforts to create a destination management strategy for the town took another small step forward as council approved policy to establish the Destination Olds Collective Fund last Monday (March 27).

A fundraising banquet and social evening organized by members of the Olds High School Interact Club raised more than $4,000 for three causes: Hope 4 MVC Kids, Gowns for Grads and Tuxes and a food program for students.

Seasons Retirement Communities, which owns Sunrise Village and Sunrise Encore retirement facilities in Olds, will be donating a total of 200 hams to the Mountain View Food Bank April 10. Sunrise Village and Sunrise Encore will donate 100 hams each.

The cause of a fire that destroyed a valuable antique car and tractor collection last month remains unknown.
